Abigail Adams (1774-1818)

Abigail Adams was married to John Adams on October 25, 1764, Abigail advised her husband, supported the Revolution of which he was prime architect, and took on the solo management of the family farm and Adam´s business affairs, not only preserving but increasing the family fortune. As her husband began work with Jefferson on the Decleration of Independence, Abigail asked him to „remember the ladies and be more generous and favourable to them than your ancestors.“

A who´s who of the personalities, past and present, who have made America what it is today. This is a book recommendation by Sitwell Gernot-M. Steifensand in Germany / Bavaria / Wendelstein. History as a succession of events is at most only half-history. The rest is all about the people behind the events.
